Overview
A healthcare technology company serving hospital networks is looking for a Health IT Integration Engineer to own HL7, FHIR, and API integrations across major EHR platforms. Your work directly impacts care delivery and patient data accuracy at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement HL7 v2 and FHIR R4 integrations
- Build and maintain interfaces with Epic, Cerner, and other major EHR systems
- Monitor integration pipelines and resolve interface errors
- Collaborate with clinical informatics and product teams on data requirements
- Document integration architecture and data mappings
Qualifications
- 3+ years of health IT integration engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with HL7 v2, FHIR R4, and RESTful API integration
- Experience with Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or similar integration engines
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy requirements and HIPAA
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic Bridges or Cerner HealtheIntent
- Familiarity with SMART on FHIR and OAuth 2.0
- HL7 certification or clinical informatics background
